On August 30, SJ/T 16000-2016 Guidance on Social Responsibility of Information and Communication Technology Industry (the Guidance) was released in the 4th China Electronic and Information Technology Industry CSR Annual Conference in Beijing. Mr.Yu Zhihong, Chief Expert of GoldenBee CSR Consulting was invited to attend the annual conference.
Fan Bin, Deputy Director-General of Department of Policies, Laws and Regulations of MIIT and representatives from other industrial organizations, institutions and enterprises attended this conference and witnessed the release of the Guidance.
The Guidance was published by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT). Aiming to promote CSR development of information and communication technology (ICT) industry and improve CSR performance of ICT enterprises, the Guidance identifies the CSR industry fields and core requirements from 31 issues and 10 topics, namely management governance, technological innovation and application, employees' rights and interests, safety and health, resource conservation and environmental protection, integrity operation, supply chain collaboration, customer relationship, virtual community management and community engagement and development.
The Guidance is formulated based on ISO 26000: Guidance on Social Responsibility, and GB/T 36000 Guidance on Social Responsibility (the national CSR standard of China), and combined with features and practices of ICT industries.
Mr.Yu Zhihong, Chief Expert of GoldenBee CSR Consulting moderated the panel discussion. With the aim of explaining the relationship between CSR practices and CSR standards, the participants clarified the relationship from different perspectives, including how to integrate them into the operation. Experts also gave some suggestions to select CSR standards: one is that enterprises should have fully understand the standards, and the other is to apply them precisely.
Additionally, 8 excellent members of the Social Responsibility Committee of China Electronics Standardization Association, including China WTO Tribune, China Electronics Technology Group, and Intel China, were honored for their good CSR practices.
The 4th China Electronic and Information Technology Industry CSR Annual Conference was jointly hosted by China Information Technology Industry Federation (CITIF), China Electronics Standardization Association (CESA) and China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI) under the guidance of MIIT and relevant ministries.
